Basic skills in vascular surgery

• Objectives of workshop: The course Objectives are to familiarise attendees with basic vascular surgery skills. The workshop ultimately aims to improve vascular surgical safety, operative confidence and operative efficiency in a way that cannot be provided by routine surgical supervision or by other simulated environments.
• Learning outcomes: By the end of the course, participants will be expected to: Develop required basic skills to repair, bypass a bleeding vessel in the event of trauma or emergency. Also, they will develop required basic skills to obtain and to close vascular endovascular access
• Method of Delivery: The course consists of sessions which are fully interactive with an emphasis placed on knowledgeable faculty who provide superior training and immediate feedback in a practical and controlled environment. It will be delivered using the following
• Methods of delivery: Pre-reading, lectures, discussion and practical suture technique on plastic models and animal tissues
• Work Plan: Each pair of trainees will be assigned a trainer during practical session. Through lectures, discussion and practical hands on training using plastic models and animal tissues
